Campus Supervisor

Description: The Campus Supervisor plans, organizes, and directs activities for evening shift of the Center by responding to emergencies, coordinating delivery of services throughout the Center, communicating with appropriate personnel both internally and externally, and managing administrative issues which may come up during a shift. Responsible for providing supervision to BIST and Residential Staff, and ensures knowledge of any existing plans during her/his shift. Responsibilities include debriefing crisis situations, providing written reports to appropriate individuals.
Position: Fulltime.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or related field; 6-10 years of direct care with adolescents may be accepted in lieu of degree. Minimum of five years prior experience dealing with crisis management, of which two must have been providing guidance and direction to other staff.

Development Coordinator

Description: The Development Coordinator assists in the preparation and coordination of a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes an array of fundraising strategies that generate revenue in support of Good Shepherd’s mission including, but not limited to; special events, corporate/foundation giving, and individual giving. This position is responsible for additional administrative tasks to support the Development Office.
Position: Fulltime.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum of three years experience in marketing, communications, event planning, grant writing, corporate relations, and individual giving.

Psychiatrist

Description: The Psychiatrist is responsible for the organization, supervision, and implementation of treatment services at the facility. Directs the activities of the medical department consistent with local, state, federal, JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements. Provides direct psychiatric services (evaluation, consultation, medication management, psychotherapy) to assigned patients and their families.
Position: Full time, requires on-call coverage.
Requirements: Current MD License in the state of Maryland and Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Minimum of 2 years of experience in treatment of adolescent behavior disorders and/or emotional disturbances.

Registered Nurse

Description: The role of the RN is to assist and support students through the stabilization and reunification process while in a residential treatment center. The RN will provide general nursing care to students, perform triage and crisis intervention, administer medications, and document according to the nursing process. Providing nursing assessment for all students considered to be in crisis that may require therapeutic restraint and/or seclusion is essential to the role. The RN contributes to and supports the interdisciplinary treatment plan and provides services directed by physician/LIP. The RN administers CDC recommended immunizations to employees and students.
Position: Fulltime.
Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an AA degree as a Registered Nurse is required. At least one year experience in nursing required; one year in child and adolescent psych nursing preferred. Current MD State Licensure as an RN. Day shift 7:00am-3:30pm with a commitment for every other weekend.

Residential Counselor

Description: The Residential Counselor coordinates the therapeutic program and treatment plan for each student. Guides and assists the students in meeting their treatment goals.  Creates a therapeutic milieu under the direction of the Residential Coordinator.
Position: Fulltime.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences or related field. Additional experience may be substituted for education. At least one year related experience in a residential treatment setting required with education, or at least six years of experience with education.

Residential Night Assistant

Description: The Residential Night Assistant (RNA) is responsible for the well-being and supervision of students on a unit(s) as assigned. Supervision may rotate among the various residential units and may include special supervision based on agency needs. The RNA is responsible for the safety of the unit, compliance with safety regulations, and through vigilant observation maintains an environment that provides security and warmth for the students. Documentation is maintained throughout the shift on regular intervals to provide day shift staff with necessary treatment information, and the night assistant is responsible to contact the nurse on duty and support staff for emergency situations.
Position: Fulltime.

Residential Unit Supervisor

Description: The Residential Unit Supervisor facilitates unit-based therapeutic programming and implementation of the treatment plan for each student by ensuring the unit provides a therapeutic and safe milieu. Provides day-to-day oversight and supervision to the residential staff as well as ensuring the provision of training and professional development. In conjunction with other staff members, develops the therapeutic milieu experience for individual students, the group, and the facility-wide environment.
Position: Fulltime.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field required. 10 years of direct care services to adolescents may be accepted in lieu of degree. Minimum of five years providing direct care services to adolescents in a residential environment preferred. Minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred.

Sr. HR Generalist

Description: The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for Benefits Administration and ADP HRIS Administration for Good Shepherd Services. Additionally, responds to inquiries from outside agencies, processes separation information, and manages the performance evaluation process.  This position also serves as back-up to the Director of HR in Employee Relations and Worker’s Compensation matters in the Director’s absence.
Position: Fulltime.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required; Six to 10 years generalist HR experience with heavy emphasis in Benefits Administration (ACA/ERISA Compliance). Strong ADP HRIS experience preferred; general ADP experience required. PHR certification preferred.

Sr. Residential Counselor

Description: The Sr. Residential Counselor facilitates students in meeting the goals of their treatment plans by creating a nurturing, supportive and safe environment. Serves as a member of the treatment team. Responsible for the direct supervision of students including the use of behavior management models. Facilitates the achievement of students’ treatment goals, socialization skills with peers and appropriate communication skills with authority figures.

Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences or related field. At least seven years in a residential treatment setting preferred. At least three years supervisory experience preferred.

Teacher (Horticulture, Life Skills, Math, Spanish)

Description: Teaches secondary school subjects to students with emotional/learning difficulties according to the MSDE Voluntary State Curriculum, curriculum developed by the local school system, or a curriculum developed by Good Shepherd School. Plans curriculum, prepares lessons to meet individualized needs of students, incorporating specific strategies to meet IEP requirements. Utilizes appropriate behavior management techniques to establish an environment in the classroom conducive to learning, and utilizes intervention/de-escalation techniques to maintain the student in the classroom.
Position: Fulltime.
Requirements: Degree in Special Education required. Master’s Degree in Special Education preferred. Minimum of 3 years of education experience required. Experience with adolescents is strongly preferred.
